MSU Student Voter Turnout

Through the years, Michigan State students have headed to the polls to cast their votes pretty frequently. In 2008 presidental race where junior Senator, Barak Obama, faced off against businessman, Mitt Romney, MSU students had a strong turnout with 8645 students heading to the polls. In the 2012 and 2016 presidential races, student turnout was much lower than in 2008. In 2010 and 2014, MSU students headed to the polls to vote in gubinatorial races, and in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2017, only a few MSU students went to the polls to vote in the local elections.
